Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but from the strength of an ox come abundant harvests. (Proverbs 14:4)
I grew up on a farm. Animals make messes and messes need to be cleaned up. And messes aren’t pretty. But with the strength of many oxen, much work can get done.
I don’t use oxen to work today. I work with people. But, people can get messy and messes can turn out to be very un-pretty. But with a lot of people working together, a lot of work can be done for God’s kingdom.
I am thankful for the mess. I am thankful for the people. I am thankful for the harvest.
