Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. ( I Timothy 1:15-16)
We all mess up. No one is perfect. But Jesus knew that. He came to earth to save us all.
Now Paul, who wrote this, was a pretty bad dude. He had Christians killed. So … if you are thinking you are too sinful for Jesus to save, you’re not. Paul was an example of an extreme makeover by Jesus.
He was ‘the worst of sinners’, but after God got ahold of him, he was one of the most faithful followers.
Jesus did his part by dying on the cross for us; our part is to believe and receive him into our lives.
Golly, seems like Jesus got the raw end of that deal.
